Put on your walking shoes . . .

WP and I had a great time at Hershey Park, but boy I realized that amusement parks are for parents and children;  grandparents can come along for the ride. But I was here this time and I had to ride several of the rides that WP could not get on without a parent or guardian or someone bigger than a Reese.  I can't remember the last time I rode a ride at an amusement park. The Scrambler was the first fast ride and I thought I wouldn't make it but I did. WP and I laughed all through the ride. We screamed and laughed until it stopped.I didn't walk as much as my sister and nephew but I did my share. We didn't leave the park until 9:30 p. m. I know it was very close to closing time. GREAT TRIP!
This blog entry was written in Aug. 2011, but some how when I made a change it changed order.

Spending time . . .

I'm so glad to spend time in the morning with KZ. This week I'm taking him to school, but before school he likes to eat breakfast. He also likes to watch television. On Monday I let him watch Ben 10, Pokemon, and another cartoon, so on Tuesday he informed me that he could only watch Ben 10. The other cartoons his mom doesn't want him to watch. Well, you don't have to tell me but once, so on Tuesday and Wednesday he started with Curious George, and The Cat in the Hat. One thing I can say, when his parents say he can't do something, KZ will let you know. No mistakes from Grandma Ro!

Weathering the storm . . .

This October 2012 was a very unpredictable one. The weather was forecasted and finally the meteorologist got it right. We weren't ready for what was to come. For the first time that I could ever remember New Jersey was at a stand still. Hurricane Sandy along with other weather fronts shut down our state. Devastation everywhere. No power, no heat, no food; in some areas, but most of all no gas or it was scarce because it takes electricity to run the pumps. Most areas had no electricity because of down power lines. My God is merciful and loving and we made it through. As of today, Nov. 7th some of my family is still without power, but we have weathered the storm regardless of this. Yes, material thing will come and go, but there is nothing that can take the place of the coming together of family and friends. All of my gems are safe and sound. All tucked away with love.

Daily Walk . . .

I thank God for each day that He allows me to live. I have four beautiful grandsons. They are growing up so nicely. They have great parents and a great extended support family. My two youngest grandsons don't know me that well. I have to change a few things so I can get attached to them. I just Love it when I see how they are growing and changing. I have to remember time waits for no one.
