The thoughts of kids . . .

Today, I had KZ2 and we took my sister to the doctor. He's such a loving and happy little guy. He shared with me that he was feisty. I asked him who said that and he said his brother called he that. The things children say!

This week with my KZs

Wow! September 1st is already here, and we back to school is near. My grandsons are visiting me this week because their mom is back to work and soon they will be back in school. It's always a joy to have them with me. KZ2 is four and holding his own when he's playing with his brother. He doesn't let them KZ1 get over on him. I try to let them solve their disputes before I step in, but sometimes the only thing that works is a time out for both of them.

Winding down . . .

The final days with my grandsons ended with four of the five. We had a great time this past week! Kalahari was a pleasurable and great over-niter. The indoor water park was exciting. The guys were able to go and come with little supervision throughout the area. They really liked that. I would like to go again. I am so thankful to God that I was able to spend this time with them. I pray that we can spend time again like this next year.

Day Three . . .

Another busy and full day with WP1 and KZ1. I guess I'm trying to get so much done while they are with me that I'm bushed. They are like the energizer bunny. They keep going and going and going. So far, we have done what I planned to do with them. We did make it to the beach. They really enjoyed themselves. Tomorrow is another big day! We are going to Kalahari Water park in PA. We will be staying overnight. Nothing too big but just a chance to enjoy the water park and not have to drive home until the next day. Well at least this will give me a chance to rest; just a little bit. I'm thanking God for this time and prayerfully asking for traveling mercy again.

Our Vacation . . .

Today I picked up WP1 and KZ1. They are going to spend the week with me. It's going to be an adventure. So far we visited the MAM; only to find out that they were closed today. I thought we were playing a role in the 39 Clues. Then we went to Eagle Rock Mountain. Neither of the boys had been there before, so that was an interesting adventure. they used their iPads to take pictures. We stopped fir a short pit stop at Nishuane Park; the swing was a welcoming exercise for me. In fact KZ1 asked if I could fit on the swing. I told him that was an insult. He didn't know what that meant so WP1 explained it to him. KZ1 said he didn't mean it like that. All in all we had a rather adventurous time. Our final destination before we went to see WP1's dad was the barber shop. Yes, it was time for that dreaded haircut. I know we are going to have a good time this week. This is only the beginning.

It's been awhile!

KZ1 and KZ2 spent the day with me. It's been awhile since they have spent the day with me. They are growing so fast.

Where did the year go?

Oh boy! Another school year has come and gone. My grandsons are all moving up. WP1 will be a 5th grader, KZ1 will be a 2nd grader, and KZ2 will be moving up at his preschool. Prayerfully this up and coming year WP2 will be going to preschool; and as for WP3 he has a long way to go. God has truly blessed my family. They are all growing into their own personalities.

Shame on me . . .

It's been a month and a week and I have not blogged about my new grandson. I have a third WP; to be more accurate he's WP3. I am the proud grandma of five beautiful grandsons; each unique and wonderfully made.

It's been awhile . . .

I haven't stopped to take the time to blog. I've had my grandsons several times during the month of April. I have an overnight guest that I will be taking to school in the morning; and then to Taekwondo after school. They are really growing up so fast. Soon WP3 will be here. his expected delivery date is May 13th. I am so thankful to God for his blessings and I can't wait to see the little guy. KZ1 and KZ2 are doing well. They are both doing well in school. This is the age of the digital native and my grandsons are definitely apart of that age.

My Gems . . .

Today I started out with two of my gems and ended the day with three. My KZ1 and 2  visited me today, and then we went to pick up WP1 from school and take him to Taekwondo. It was a very interesting day. Watching them play games on their iPad. Observing how much KZ2 emulates his big brother. The same thing happens when WP1 and 2 are together.

Spending time . . .

The P's spent some time with me on Friday, April 3rd. I really enjoy them. WP2 is getting so big and he just enjoys being with his big brother. I also had the pleasure of being with WP1 and his dad on Easter Sunday. WP1 and his dad were in our Resurrection Day play. It was truly a please to see them side by side and enjoying it. It's good to spend time with my family. They are all growing up so fast.

WP1's Day

I picked him up from school on Wednesday; it's his Taekwondo day. He complained about his ankle again but we still went to class. He had a good session. WP didn't know it but he was staying with me and I was taking him to school on Thursday. The order of my morning was smooth sailing until he told me he didn't have his permission slip, and it was due today. Oh, well grandma to the rescue. After I dropped him off at school I went to his dad's house and got it. I handed it in to his teacher when I picked him up from school. So, I had an opportunity to spend some time with him again. We are still into listening to the 39 Clues audio books. We are listening to number 7.

WP1

Picked WP1 up this morning from his dad's house. His dad is still not feeling well. He went to church with me and then I took him home. It's amazing , the more things change the more they stay the same. He's growing and still have his moments of remembering what he needs to remember. I guess that's typical of all children; especially boys. Go figure! All in all I enjoy spending time with him.

It's Back!

It's not gone yet. It snowed today and it wasn't a little dusting. I received a text from my son. He wasn't feeling well. I think he caught a little bug from WP2. Anyway, I picked up WP1 from school and took him to his dad's house. WP1 is a tough cookie. He told me he was trying not to get sick, and even if he didn't feel well he had to go to school. He said he's only missed school during the snow days. He too is tired and in need of rest. The body knows when it needs to rest and if we don't listen it will put us down. So, while I drove WP1 to his dad; he took a much needed rest.

Off to School

Since WP1 stayed with me last night I had to get him to school. We stopped for breakfast at BK. He listened to disk 6 of the 39 Clues: Into the Gauntlet. I've really enjoyed listening to this series. The audio books are so enticing. I don't know what audio books we will listen to when these are over.

Last night . . . 31815

I picked up WP1 last night because WP2 had to go to the hospital; emergency. He wouldn't stop throwing up. Instead of getting early in the morning. I opted to get him last night. WP1 was in his pajamas, so he came in the house and went right to sleep. WP2 is doing okay. I'm so glad that he is.

Another Taekwondo Day

Today was my day to pick up WP1 and take him to Taekwondo. When I picked him up he was complaining about his right knee bothering him, and he also left his uniform home. So, I mentioned to him that maybe he could go another day. I spoke with his dad and he said it was okay; that's if I wanted to do that. I decided to take him to Taekwondo and see if he could take class without his belt. He really didn't want to go; in fact he teared up because he said his knee was bothering him. I guess I forced him to take the class, but in the end he enjoyed it. Yes, his knee bothered him a little but he had a great time in class.

Rehearsal 31515

WP1 came to church today. He had to be there to practice his part. I love to see him. He's really growing up. He'll be ten years old this year. I'm so thankful to see how he's changing and growing. His confidence is growing more and more.

WP1 Sparring 3815 & 31115

WP got a good work out on Monday. His sparring class was intense. Working on kicks and punches for forty-five minutes was truly a workout. His next day was today, but when I picked him up he wasn't feeling okay. He said he felt out of sorts; not himself. So he took a break today and will go on Friday.

Both of the WP's 3615

I picked WP1 up from his cousin's house and stopped to buy some chicken at Pathmark. He loves chicken; he's going to turn into a bird. Not long after we got to the house the doorbell rang. It was WP2. He wasn't feeling too good; stomach virus. Anyway . . . he was okay. He's going to the potty more; at least they are taking him every hour. He's so verbal. I can understand him more and more. He ate a little bit of his nuggets and even a chocolate chip cookie. I realize that his journey has truly been on God's time. It humbles you to have to wait and see the miracles of the Lord. I truly thank God for all He has done for WP2 and all He will continue to do for him.

Taekwondo with WP1

Today is my turn to take WP1 to Taekwondo. I hope he's not too stressed out. He's been testing this week. This is an update - no testing due to inclement weather. So he had a great class. In fact I can see his confidence building more  and more each class. During class there was a challenge to grab your opponents whit belt before he grabbed yours, and WP1 did it. He was so proud of himself. In fact he did it twice. The second time it was a tie, but he did it. I was so happy because I could see the confidence in him.

Jesus' House

That's what WP2 calls church; especially his pop pop's church. It was so good to see him, and his compassion for other children. He was so friendly with everyone. One of the little boys was crying because he wanted his mom, and WP2 was so concerned that he went over to him and tried to console him. He was also fascinated by the baby that was in church. He is such a gem and dear to my heart. All of my grandsons are my gems. I love them dearly.

Celebration Time!

Today KZ2 turned four and we celebrated his day. He got to do what he wanted; within reason. So his celebration was at the yogurt shop. We ate cupcakes and yogurt and he got to play the video game. They are growing up so fast. Have to keep my eyes open or I'll miss it.

Another Day

I picked WP1 up from school and took him to his Taekwondo class. He has his good days; where he looks and feels more confident. Today was one of those days. He got to wear the student of the month belt again. His picture hangs on the wall amongst the others. He has a patch; I have to sew it on his uniform. During our time together we listen to audio books. We have been listening to the 39 Clues series. I have to admit I'm enjoying them. We have listened to five of the books. I just got number 6 , so we will begin that book tomorrow.

WP2's Overnight Visit 22115 - 22215

I watched WP2 on Saturday. He's getting so big and talking more and more. He knows how to administer his own feeding if you let him. I know he can tell me how things are connected. I had to give him his ten o'clock meds. I was looking for the tube that's used to flush his feeding tube. WP2 kept telling me that he takes it in his mouth. I wasn't really listening to him. I text his dad and asked him where the tube was, and he told me they give WP2 his medicine in his mouth now. If only I had listened to my grandson. He knew. I really enjoy all of my grandsons. They have so much love to give.

The Extended Visit 21715 - 21915

I was fortunate enough to spend several days with WP1. He had Tuesday off and his dad had to work, so he spent the day with me. Then his dad remembered that he had two days of training in Trenton, and he needed me to keep WP1. And that's how I got to spend extra time with him. I had to get back into the swing of things and get up early to get him to school; we did make it on time. I've learned a few things about WP1. He's very slow and distracted. I have to keep him on task, by constantly telling him to hurry up. I know that I will send him to bed a half an hour earlier, and wake him up an hour earlier. All in all I enjoy having him with me. He's growing up so fast. All of my grandsons are growing up so fast. Before you know it WP3 will be here and WP2 will be in preschool, and KZ2 will be in Kindergarten, and KZ1 will be in 2nd grade. Time waits for no one. I have to keep my eyes wide open.

Growing Up! 21515

Yesterday we celebrated WP2'S birthday. He's three now, and growing like a weed. He had a ball!

Switched Days 2615

Since WP1 missed his Taekwondo class on Monday. I decided to take him on Friday, so I picked him up from school and away we went. After Taekwondo we had to hurry home because his dad was picking him up and they were going to a hockey game.

My Overnight Guest

I enjoy my Wednesdays with WP1. I take him to Taekwondo. This Wednesday he's staying over and I'm taking him to school. He's really growing up. He made student of the month at Taekwondo. I'm proud of him and I just pray that he continues to gain confidence and strength in himself.

Cold, Icy, Frigid . . . and KZ2's Visit

Another winter storm brought freezing rain, snow and sleet. It was so cold outside that KZ2's school was cancelled. We had tv time, lunch time, puzzle time and then nap time. I try not to pressure him with too much work. He learns a lot more by observing and doing it when he wants too.

KZ1 & KZ2

I had my grandsons stay over last night, and I took them home this morning. They are growing by leaps and bounds. I love to hear KZ2 speak and emulate his older brother KZ1. I have to find time to spend with them at least once a month. Next time I'll take them to church with me.The love that KZ2 shows for his brother is awesome. KZ2 accidentally hit his brother in the nose. Of course, KZ1 cried, but not only did he cry his little brother cried. They were both crying. KZ2 was so concerned about his brother being hurt by him. He felt really bad about what happened. I checked KZ1 and put an ice pack on it and gave him a big hug. I also reassured KZ2 that his brubbie would be alright.

Day Two! 12915

I decided to take WP1 to Taekwondo on Thursday, so he would have at least two days of practice in. This was my first time watching him practice with the nunchucks. I was glad that I took him; plus this time gave him an opportunity to listen to the 39 Clues CDs.

Taekwondo today . . .

I'm picking up WP1 today and taking him to taekwondo. I hope the roads are pretty decent.

WP1

Today i gave WP1 his tablet case that I made for him. I'm going to make a couple more and I have to make sure I take my time. My son critic the bag and gave me a few suggestions that will make it even more polished.

Taekwondo

He's hanging in there. Today is Taekwondo. I'm picking WP1 up from school and taking him to class.

WP1's Visit 012015

I enjoy WP1's visits. He stayed over Monday night because he had no school on Tuesday. I got so wrapped up in him I forgot about my quilting.

KZ1 and 2, Friday, 011615

I got to spend a little time with my other grandsons. KZ1 and KZ2. They are really growing. Next month is KZ2 and WP2's birthday.

WP2

I just love spending time with WP2. He's growing so much and talking more and more. I love his spirit, his smile, his eyes. He's my Chuka Nuka; my Pepito! I thank God for his marvelous blessings.

Monday, January 12, 2015

Sparring!

This week is sparring and WP1 is getting better at holding his own. There are some tough cookies in his class. Some of them seem very aggressive.

Thursday, January 8, 2015

The Pickup!

I enjoy picking up WP1 from school because I get to spend time with him. Today I picked him up from Hope's house. He was a little concerned about what was happening at the house. When Hope arrived home she smelt gas in the kitchen. When I arrived she was calling the fire department and then PSE&G. This seemed to alarm WP1 a little so he was a little hesitant to leave. I stayed in touch with Hope to make sure everything was okay, and I also kept WP1 abreast of what was going on. Thank God everything worked out for the best. There was a leak in the basement and the landlord is going to replace the stove.

Taekwondo Wednesday, January 7, 2015

Today is my day to take WP1 to Taekwondo. I picked him up from school and I got him a little snack before class. That was the wrong thing to do because his tummy was hurting him. I could tell as I watched him participating in the class. He really didn't have enough time for his food to settle. I've learned from my mistake.

Blessings!

I am so thankful for my blessings. Each gem is special to me.

Saturday, January 3, 2015

My Gems!

I saw two of my grandsons today. WP1 was going to stay over but he decided to go home with his dad. I will let his mom know. It's good that he spends time with his family. WP2 is getting so big and talking more and more each time I see him.I love all of my gems. Thank you God for them all.
