It's Official!

It's official! Will is having another boy. I'm thanking God for His blessings, and praying that He keeps this baby safe while she carries him in her womb. God's grace and mercy is everlasting.

This time of year usually brings family together; some came and some didn't. I am so thankful for all of my grandsons. I got to see all of them. I love the thoughtful gifts they gave me. They put a lot of thought in each gift. They were truly gifts from the heart.

WP1's Big Day!

It finally came. The moment we all were finally waiting for. His black belt testing day. He was nervous, anxious, and scared. He did a great job. My grandson is so emotional. He has to toughen up a little. He was so happy when he received his 1st Dan Black Belt, and I was too.

Friday, November 14, 2014

Sparing Time!

WP1 is working on his 1st Dan Black Belt. He's been sparing since last week. He has to build up his confidence. He seems unsure of himself. He looks a little afraid of getting kicked. I just pray that he gets through this test with flying colors. I pray that he takes charge of himself. Next week he begins fasting. I am a little afraid of this task. Self control and determination is much needed.

Half Day!

Picked up WP1 from school. He forgot his math homework. I went to the library to see if I could download it from his school's website. Anyway, he saw a couple of his classmates and he was able to make a copy of the math. I was so thankful for how God made that all happen. I was praising God for this blessing.

The Walk . . .

WP1 and I plus other family members walked today in honor of those who were breast cancer survivors. It was also in honor of those survivors who are now deceased. It was a wonderful time.

Sight and Sound - Moses

I spent the day with KZ1, WP1, Nancy, and Michael. We went with Nancy's church gave a bus ride to see Moses at Sight and Sound. I had a very enjoyable day with the guys and Nancy. The play was fantastic. The dramatic effects are great. WP1 and KZ1 enjoyed it. After the play we went to Hershey Farms to eat. Kz1 and WP1 weren't able to sit together, so KZ1 sat with Deleon. He was a seven year old boy. He was called DD for short. He and KZ1 talked all the way there and home. All in all I know they had a great day.

Friday, October 17, 2014

1st Dan Black Belt Candidate

Oh, I'm extremely happy because WP1 made it through the first round and now he is a black belt candidate. We still have a lot of studying to do but he made it. I am so pleased with his accomplishments thus far. I pray that this journey molds him into a confident and self-respecting person.

KZ1 today . . .

KZ1 doesn't have school today so he's here with me; of course KZ2 was not very happy. KZ2 wouldn't even say good morning because he was mad about not staying with me too. KZ1 had several worksheets to do for school, so we did those first before the television came on. Hopefully we can visit the library today.

Wednesday, October 8, 2014

Taekwondo Day 5

Today we get the egg. This is a part of earning WP1's black belt. I pray that God helps him get through this and learn something from caring for this egg. It is suppose to help him understand that life; especially his life is so precious.

The 2s

Today I had WP2 and KZ2 with me. It's a blessing to see them playing together. They both have grown so much.

Thursday, September 25, 2014

WP2

Today WP2 slept along time. When he woke up he had an insect bite on his right hand. I'm not sure what bite him. It could have been a mosquito bite.

Wednesday, September 24, 2014

Missing You!

WP2 didn't come today. I will miss that little rascal. He's a force to be reckoned with. Gotta Love Him!

Tuesday, September 23, 2014

Attitude

WP2 wasn't his best today. He didn't want to be bothered. His dad told him to come to me, but WP2 wouldn't come. He sat on the couch as though he were lifeless. I tried to talk to him but no response. He was sleepy. I checked his diaper and then he let me hold him. He fell asleep in my arms. I laid him down and that was all she wrote.

Monday, September 22, 2014

WP2's Week

This week I am keeping WP2. His grandpa and grandma will be away this week. I look forward to having him with me.

School's in Session!

Three of my grandsons started school today.

Almost Full 9314

Almost a full house. I had three of my grandsons yesterday. They went bike riding in the park. We were exhausted. Went home and had lunch and a nap. Good day!

Tuesday, September 2, 2014

KZ's Day

Today I have the guys. School's back in session so their mom and dad had to work today. They don't start school until the fourth. I'm going to get dressed so we can visit the library today, and maybe to the park or bike riding.

Another Gem!

WP1 and KZ1 went home today, and WP2 is with me until midnight. I am tired but I enjoy that little rascal. He's growing up and talking.

Saturday, August 23, 2014

Last Night . . .

WP1 and KZ1 will be going home tomorrow. I think they had a good time with each other. I'm thinking about next year's week with the guys. I'm going to plan a little better and take them to CoCo Key indoor water park.

Friday, August 22, 2014

Another Full Day!

Although we didn't do all that I had planned. I think they had a good time just being together. They had disagreements and then they were back playing together. I am glad that they had this opportunity to be together.

Thursday, August 21, 2014

Time to Depart!

I think WP1 and KZ1 have had enough of each other. They are typical children. Play and bicker back and forth all day long. Who's trying to be bossy? Who thinks he knows it all? Then on the other hand they play well together. Enjoy each others company. I know how to handle this situation next summer; God's willing. We will take a four day trip and get away from the homestead.

Wednesday, August 20, 2014

Change of Plans

Instead of going to South Mountain to play miniature golf. The guys road their bikes. WP1 needs all the practice he can get. He and KZ1 had a good time until KZ1 feel off his bike. He yelled and cried a little. I cleaned up his booboo and he decided not to ride anymore. After sitting and thinking about it he got back up and started again. Their grandpa came by and they were so excited to show off for him. WP1 road with a more confidence. We were suppose to go back out and ride to the park, but once again the plans changed. I had to get some food and snacks in the house. So we went food shopping. I know one thing they were bushed after dinner. So after a shower, prayers, a story and then my favorite song they were down for the count. Knocked out! I am going to have to invest in bunk beds. They are getting too big to sleep together.

Tuesday, August 19, 2014

A Full Day!

we had a very good day. We went to Bowcraft. Thank God for their uncle's help. I would not have been able to ride with them; not an amusement park gal. WP1 and KZ1 had a great time riding some of the rides at Bowcraft. Our next stop was to grandpa's house to see him and, great-grandma Bell, aunt Brenda, and cousin Carrie. Our last stop was Whole Foods to get dinner. Back at home eat and get ready to relax, but first a nice warm shower. WP1 and KZ1 will end their night by watching another episode of Shark Week.

Monday, August 18, 2014

This is my week . . .

Today was a good first day with both WP1 and KZ1. Their uncle came to help me with them, and I was so thankful for him. He helped WP1 with his bike riding skills, and then when KZ1 came we all went to the park. I know we are going to have a great week. I want to give my grandsons a chance to spend a little time with each other and with me.

Monday, August 11, 2014

My Pepito!

I don't remember how or why I call WP2, Pepito but it makes him laugh when I do. I love to hear and see the smile on his face.

Sunday, August 10, 2014

Sleep! 8914

I was so happy that WP2 slept through the night. I love that little whipper snapper. I have several names for him, but rascal is the main one; then Pepito and Chuka Nuka.

Friday, August 8, 2014

WP2

Today is WP2's turn. He's staying overnight with me. I am so thankful to God for what he has done for WP2. I thank God everyday for his blessings. WP2 is growing and moving right along. He's one of my gems.

Thursday, August 7, 2014

My Sleepover Guest

WP1 is coming to stay overnight with me. When they dropped him off WP2 was crying his little eyes out. He wanted to stay with me. They were taking him to his other grandparents in Jersey City. I went to the car to console him and to reassure him that I would see him tomorrow. I called him Pepito and he laughed. I love all of my grandsons.

Saturday, August 2, 2014

WP2

I'm going to have my youngest grandson today. He's coming this evening. I haven't seen him in a while. I'll update this blog later. May have some exciting things to say.

Taekwondo Testing

Today WP1 has another Taekwondo testing. I am going because his dad has another commitment. He was so scared and sad at the same time because his dad didn't get a chance to see him test. I really felt bad for him. He made it through and did well. I pray that God will help WP1 get through what ever he's going through.

Sunday, July 27, 2014

WP1 is going through . . .

He's changing and growing up. At times I'm not sure what to do with him. I don't want to be too harsh or stern. I want him to know that he can trust and depend on me. I want him to know that I'm always here for him. I want him to be able to share his thoughts and feelings with me.

Tuesday, July 22, 2014

WP1

I picked WP1 up from camp today and took him to his Taekwondo class. I was glad to see him. On the way home we talked about his trip to North Carolina and other exciting things in his life. He'll be nine in August and I want to do something special with him and KZ1. They are going to spend a week with me. I don't want it to be too boring!

Sunday, July 13, 2014

WP1's changing . . .

WP1 went to church with me. He still has an attitude that needs to be checked; now! He'll be nine next month and in the fourth grade. I'm going to read up on his physical as well as mental changes that nine year olds experience. All of the characteristics may not apply but I'm sure there will be a few there that do.

Saturday, July 12, 2014

Growing Pains! 71114

WP1 is changing. His attitude is becoming ruder and ruder. I have to keep him in check.

No Gems Today

Today is a day without any of my gems. Today is not a me day but a Ramona day.

Tuesday, July 1, 2014

My Youngest Gem

Yesterday (6-30-14) and today I have the youngest of my gems, WP2. We went to a funeral yesterday. He was well behaved and I was saddened by the tragedy behind this death. We stayed in the foyer while the service was going on. He went to sleep. which was a good thing.

Sunday, June 29, 2014

Stayed home . . .

WP1 was dropped off this morning. We are staying home today from church.

Saturday, June 28, 2014

No Gems Today

This weekend I have no gems to take care of. I'm glad because that means they are with their parents.
:-)

Thursday, June 26, 2014

WP1

My grandson is not a very happy camper. He's unhappy because he fells left out. Then when his dad ask him about it. He says everything is okay, but it's not. I keep telling him to talk to his dad and tell him how he feels.

Wednesday, June 25, 2014

WP1's Turn

Today WP1's dad met me at the dentist's office and dropped Lil' Will to me. I'm watching him today and tomorrow. We had several things to do today and then back home. He knows that when he's with me we spend time doing a little bit of this and a little bit of that, so we took turn reading about New Jersey. Then we had lunch and now it's time to take a nap. I know he's eight years old but it's always good to take it down for a minute or two.

Tuesday, June 24, 2014

The Gems

Yesterday I picked up WP1 from school. It was his last day. I took him to get his hair cut, then lunch, and then we were going to drop off KZ2. Today I have KZ1 and KZ2. It's their mom's last day of work. I'm going to take them to the park later and then maybe to the library.

Monday, June 23, 2014

Granddaddy . . .

KZ2 must have seen granddaddy because he kept calling me that. When he's been with nana and then he comes to me he would call me nana and then grandma. It's too cute. He knows who I am but he is probably thinking about his granddaddy.

Saturday, June 21, 2014

Friday . . .

For KZ2 and I it was a lazy hazy day. We didn't do anything. He spent most of his time playing and watching television.

Thursday, June 19, 2014

KZ2's Adventures

Today Auntie Fee had to go for a mammogram. We left about 7:45 am. KZ2 asked, where we were going and why do we have to go.?" Of course, I explained it to him several times. After that he asked, "where are we going now?" We stopped at BK and had breakfast. Again, he asked, "where are we going now?" Our next stop was the Post Office. KZ2 asked, "Why do we have to go there?" So you can imagine how many times I was telling him where we were going next. He wanted to go to the recycle center and the library. We will go to the library and recycle center on Friday.

Wednesday, June 18, 2014

A Celebration!

KZ1 graduated from Kindergarten. He had his moving up celebration. I was so happy that I made it on time and I took WP2 with me. He was so glad to see his cousins and they were glad to see him.

Tuesday, June 17, 2014

KZ2 and WP2's visit . . .

I have two for the day. WP2 is still asleep and KZ2 is watching on of our favorite shows, Curious George. It's going to be an interesting day. I know WP2 is going to want to follow KZ2 around, and do what ever he does.

Monday, June 16, 2014

Another Busy Day

KZ2 was in for another busy day. We had to take grandma Monie and aunt Fee to the podiatrist. My mom cancelled, but I still had to take aunt Fee. After the doctor's visit. I went to Joann's Craft Store. I bought a few needed items. After that we went to Wendy's for an early lunch. He kept reminding me that we had to take the recycle items to the recycle center. I took the long way home so I could find interesting things to talk about. We still had a few more stops to make. He took a short cat nap while I drove from Rahway, Clark, Westfield, Garwood, Cranfornd, Roselle Park and then Elizabeth. We were almost home but two more stops and then home. When we arrived home he reminded me to go to the recycle center. That was our last stop. Finally we could go home and rest.

Sunday, June 15, 2014

Reprogram WP1

The mold is set, but I know if you chip at it you can remold him. It's time to observe and see his true colors. He can be very stubborn but you can't let him win. He's set but I have to introduce new concepts into his mind. I have to help influence change so he can help himself better. I gave him a time limit today on getting dress and he did better at completing the task because he wanted to use the Ipad. I told him he had to read a little first. I didn't download Mindcraft because I didn't want him to spend all of his time on the game. I tried to keep him engaged in other ways. We started working on a Father's Day gift; which wasn't completed. We still have time before his dad comes to pick him up.

Saturday, June 14, 2014

The Breakfast . . .

Today we have an early morning breakfast and WP1 is going with me. Of course he's tired and now taking his time to get dressed. We have to pick up my sister and then get to Clifton.

Another Busy Day (61314) . . .

KZ2 and I are in for a busy day.

Thursday, June 12, 2014

Today is Thursday

KZ2 and I are relaxing today. He came with his breakfast; blueberries, apple juice, and cinnamon toast crunch.

Wednesday, June 11, 2014

Late start . . .

Today KZ2 came a little later because his Nana was bringing him instead of mommy. He's getting use to our little routine. He took off his shoes and started to play with his toys. I try not to tax him with too much work, so every chance I get I introduce or show him something new. We watch television together. Of course channel thirteen is our station. As we watch the shows I reinforce whatever is being taught or said. Today he remembered the planets and some of their names. We learned about that by watching the Cat in the Hat. Today on Daniel Tiger's Neighborhood they were talking about experiencing new things. Daniel was going to school for the first time. I told KZ2 that he will be going to school soon and meeting friends. After the show I read The Kissing Hand.

Tuesday, June 10, 2014

KZ2's Observation

Since I've been watching KZ2 he always ask for raisins, so today was no different than any other day. After he ate his raisins he asked for grapes. I gave him some grapes, and as he was eating them he said, "grapes taste like raisins." I told him that was a great observation and that he was like Sid the Science Kid. He replied, "I'm a big boy." All I could do was smile.

Monday, June 9, 2014

KZ2 . . .

It was a rainy day. I had to take KZ2 with me to the doctor. I picked up my sister Debbie to go with us. I needed her to watch KZ2 while I was being seen by the doctor. I think he enjoyed his time with Aunt Debbie. I heard him talking and entertaining her. When we came back from the doctor it was almost time for his lunch. KZ2 ate all of his broccoli today. His mommy would be so happy.

My Gems!

My gems are growing up so fast. I thank God for how he has blessed our family. WP1 is going to the fourth grade. KZ1 is going to the first grade. KZ2 will start pre-school in the summer, and WP2 is talking more, sleeping almost through the night. He's been hospital free for three months. I thank God for these blessings. I thank Him for keeping their parents safe and healthy. I thank God for keeping me fit so I can help out when they need me. Remember to seek God first in all we put our hands to.

Saturday, June 7, 2014

WP2's time . . .

Last night I watched WP2. We had a good time. he's such a rough little guy. He loves to laugh; especially when you are being silly with him and making him laugh. He's getting better with his sleeping habits. He still wakes up in the wee hours of the morning, but he goes right back to sleep. I think he has bad dreams or something that breaks his sleep.

Friday, June 6, 2014

Going out . . .

It's going to be a long day for KZ2. First I have to drop a friend off at the dentist's office in Irvington. Then we are taking grandma Monie to the doctor, and then to the bank. We may have to go to Walmart too.

Thursday, June 5, 2014

KZ2's Adventures

We are going out in the rain today. First we will go to the recycle center, and then to the library in town. Right now he's watching the Cat in the Hat and playing with insects.

Wednesday, June 4, 2014

Double the flavor . . .

Today I have KZ2 and WP2. This is going to be an adventure. I will have them until 4:00. WP2 is still asleep. He has an ear infection, and KZ2 is full of energy. We will see how the rest of this day goes.

Tuesday, June 3, 2014

KZ2

We are venturing out today. Have to take grandma Monie to the doctor for a follow-up visit. When we come back we will probable go outside. I really didn't have anything planned for today.

Monday, June 2, 2014

Visit to the Library

My day starts early. KZ2 is coming and I have to get up. I'm enjoying this time with him. I want to try to have a schedule so I can do something with him during the week. I am working with him on his fine motor skills. Today we are going to walk to the Hilton Branch library on Springfield Ave.

Sunday, June 1, 2014

Changing . . .

WP1 is growing up. He's going to be a fourth grader next school year. His attitude is changing too. I have to be very firm with him.

Saturday, May 31, 2014

My Overnight Guest

Tonight I watching WP1 and WP2. I decided to keep them overnight. I don't know what's in store for me with WP2 but I'm up for the challenge. He's growing up and hopefully he will go to sleep earlier than one o'clock in the morning. I enjoy having my grandsons visit me. It gives me an opportunity to see how they are growing.

KZ2 53014

We went out today. I had to go to church to help with the rummage sale. But before that we went to the hospital to pick up my mom. KZ2 had a busy day and on the way home he went to sleep. He was knocked out!

Thursday, May 29, 2014

KZ2

Today we watched Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. He also played with the chameleon (stuffed animal) and the counting bears. I have to work with him in a different modality. He doesn't really like to practice lines and circles, so I ask him a lot of questions when we are watching television. I ask him to find letters and numbers or things that I think he should learn. He's a sharp kid. He just doesn't like to be bothered with all that stuff.

Taking a Different Approach with KZ2 52814

I forgot to blog on Wednesday, May 28, 2014. KZ2 has his own direction and I have to steer him with a firm but gentle hand. He doesn't like naps, writing, or eating his lunch; especially if it's veggies. So now I observe and strategize my moves.

Tuesday, May 27, 2014

A New Journey

Today begins the first day of watching KZ2. I hope I can keep him entertained and learning at the same time. He's growing up so fast. Once he turned three that was it. He's having conversations with you. He's ready for pre-school. Time flies when you're having fun. I've decided to keep a daily journal on KZ2.

Tuesday, May 20, 2014

WP2's Growing Up

I love that little rascal. He's something else. I have to keep him straight and in line.

Sunday, May 18, 2014

The Viewing . . .

I'm going to have to buckle down on WP1. There was a little episode at the viewing. I told him to go to the bathroom. I was getting him up to go and he started resisting me. I had to apply a little force and make him go. I had to pop him a couple of times. I can see now that I'm going to have to pull in the reins.

Picking up WP1 . . .

This weekend WP1 will be with me. I will either pick him up from school or auntie's house. He has Taekwondo this evening, so I will be taking him. Tomorrow is going to be a busy day.We have to go to the food pantry at church and then he has a birthday party to attend. I'll take him home on Sunday.

Did they forget about me?

I received a call from WP1's mom. WP1 wasn't picked up from school. I rushed to get him. When I got there he was smiling. He asked me if I had forgotten him like I had when I was suppose to take him to get his hair cut. I explained that it wasn't my fault this time. I assured him that we loved him and would never forget him. He was just happy that he had no homework!

WP2

I watched WP2 today. Oh boy, he is really a little rascal; and you can't blame the terrible twos. I'm going to have to buckle down on him. He loves to laugh and play with you but he also likes to inflict pain. He's very heavy handed. I'm going to have to get my wooden spoon out for him. I love the relationship that I have with all of my grandsons.

KZ2

I'm watching KZ2 today. He loves raisins, so I have to make sure I have them in the house when he comes.

KZ2

Today I have KZ2 with me. He's not feeling well. He did eat some raisins and drank a little apple juice. He likes watching Dinosaur Train and playing with blocks. He's growing up so fast.

Business as usual . . .

Last week I had WP2 with me. I had him on Monday and Wednesday. He's a little rascal.

WP2

Wow! I got to see my WP2 yesterday and today. I'm watching him. He is really getting big and his vocabulary is growing. I love to see his smile. He likes the cat even though he's still a little hesitant to touch her. I'm going to read him a short story and have him color in the Big Coloring Book.

WPs visit 4514

I forgot to blog about WPs visit. I watched them yesterday. That WP2 is hilarious and he is a little rascal. He is so feisty. He messes with his brother, WP1 when he's trying to watch television or play with his tablet. WP2 seems to be talking more even though you can't make out everything he's saying. WP1 wanted to be by himself so he retreated to my bedroom and played with his tablet. I did call him out so he could be with us. I made a BIG mistake ordering from the Hunan Wok online. The food was disgusting. The chicken was too hard and the french fries were refried. Never again will I do that. Then I double tipped the man. Oh Boy! I will not do that again. Anyway we all sat down and ate dinner together. WP2 was trying to eat his chicken. He let me know when he'd had enough. I Love my grandsons. All four of them.

All Four

Today was a great day! I saw all four of my grandsons. They had a ball! They played and played; even WP2 ran around. They all had fun playing with each other. Sometimes I wish I had more space for them to play. They are really growing. WP2 is talking more; still not sure of everything he's saying but he's trying. I love to see them happy and playing. I just don't want them to get hurt.

Another Day with WP1

Today I picked up WP1 and took him to Taekwondo. He will be with me until his dad picks him up later on this evening. He has to read for twenty minutes so I set the timer and away he goes. He's reading a book titled Amelia Takes Command. I enjoy spending time with my WP1.

WP1

Yesterday I picked WP1 up from Auntie's house. He stayed overnight with me. We both are trying to get over a stomach virus.

KZ1 and KZ2 (32114)

I had my Z's over yesterday. Their great-grandma is in the hospital.

My Gems are Sick

Two of my gems have a stomach virus or something has them throwing up. I have WP1 again. He's not going to school. This is day three for him. I'm going to try to get some work for him, so he's not so far behind when he goes back.

Wednesday, March 19, 2014

Two for One

Today I will have WP1 and WP2. They will be here with me until nine tonight. Their dad has to play at Stapleton's Church tonight. WP1 is still not feeling well. He has another stomach virus. This is his second day and he's missing school. WP2 is a handful and you have to give him your undivided attention. He's a busy rascal.

Being Available

I'm available to you, use me Lord. That just popped into my head as I thought about myself being available for my family. WP1 is coming this morning he got sick and won't be going to school. His mom is going to pick him up and take him to the doctor. He's been sick off and on this school year. I wish I knew what was happening to him. So he's here laying down resting. I think his little body is just tired. He goes back and forth between parents. It's a blessing that he can withstand all of this movement. I know he loves his parents but maybe he needs a break from this co-parenting situation. Just my thoughts of course! I always enjoy having him with me. If I wasn't so busy I would keep him all the time and let him visit his parents on the weekends. I know I have some nerve. Later on today I'm picking up KZ1. He has a half day of school today. I know KZ1 is going to be so happy to see WP1. They had a good time together. KZ1 is such a thinking. I just love his logic. He and WP1 were doing some mental math. WP1 asked him how much was two plus two, and he told him. Then WP! asked him how much was two times two, and KZ1 told him. Then out of the blue KZ1 said, "if two plus two is four and two times two is four, why is ten plus ten twenty but ten times ten is a hundred." So WP1 tried to explain it to him and then I used paper and pencil to explain even further. KZ1 always comes up with somthing that you wouldn't think he would be thinking about. He's the thinker!

WP2's Overnight

I didn't have time to blog on Friday, but WP2 can for an overnight visit. I am always glad to see him; although he requires all of you undivided attention. He doesn't like the dark. I turned off the lights and he had a fit. I had to keep a small light on until he went to sleep. I'm not sure what he saw or heard that has him afraid of the dark. He's still my little rascal.

KZ2's turn . . .

Today I have KZ2 with me. He loves goldfish. I try to have at least two bags but I forgot to buy some. He's playing with blocks and watching The Magic Schoolhouse on his Leap Pad.

Monday, March 10, 2014

My Gems . . .

One of my gems is with me today. I'm watching WP2. His grandpa is conducting a funeral service today, so I'm the backup sitter. I don't mind being backup. I'm glad to be of service when I can. He's still asleep. WP2 is my little rascal. He can be so mischievous. He has a certain way of turning is mouth when he's being mischievous. You just gotta love him.

Friday, March 7, 2014

Gym again . . .

I watched WP2 today for about two and a half hours. He slept the whole time he was with me. Boy was he tired.

A Night with WP's

I was with my two of my grandsons tonight. The oldest and the youngest ones. WP1 stayed in his room. He was too busy watching a video, and of course WP2 was asleep. His dad woke him up before he left for work. WP1 came downstairs to eat, so I got to say hello. WP2 played on his drums set and we watched the Baby channel. Oh, I forgot to mention that Aunt Fee was with me. When it was time for WP1 to go to bed. I went upstairs to make sure all electronic devices were off and that he was in bed. WP2 went with me. I didn't read him a story but he said his prayers and then I always sing Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star to all of my grandsons. His brother gave him a hug and I kissed his brow. WP2 turned off the light and off we went back downstairs.

The Ps

I saw two of my grands today. They spent a couple of hours with me. Their dad is getting a cold, so I had him eat and orange and an Airbourne.

Honoring KZ2

We are celebrating KZ1s birthday today. He had a TMNT theme. I forgot to wear green, but anyway it was GREAT! His mom really knows how to create a party.

Moving Up

Today I went to WP1's Taekwondo moving up ceremony. He's going for his next belt. I was running late but by the grace of God we made it on time. I got to see him perform for his next belt.

WP1 - 22614

I went to see WP1 yesterday. I just want to stay in touch with him when he's with his mom or dad. I don't want to wait until his parents need me to watch him. I know it's important that I talk to him or see him during the week. I just want him to know that I'm there if and when he needs me.

I Mean What I Say and I Say What I Mean!

Over the years I think I've gained some wisdom when it comes to raising and or working with children; grandchildren included. I told WP1 that I was coming to his school to see if he turned in the six reading books that he had in his book bag. I threatened him and told him that if those books are still in that bag I was going to whip his butt. So I had to keep my word. I went to see him in the after care program. As soon as he saw me he said, "I took them out of my bag." He also mentioned that he was going to look for the library book that he missed placed. I have to check on him and not only when he's with his father. I love that guy and I want him to know that he can come to me and I will help him if I can.

A Day with WP1

I picked up WP1 before noon. He was very quiet and reserved. He didn't want to talk. As usual he was playing a game on his tablet. I asked him how long had he been playing and of course it was for more than three hours. I told him he had thirty more minute and then the game was off. He hadn't eaten since he woke up so that was something else I had to do. We were on our way to drop off the Women's Day program and cakes at the church, but first I had to go buy the cakes. I went to Shop Rite in Belleville and while I was in there I got that favorite bird that we all eat. Yes, chicken! I got my sister something too. We left church and went to the church. We had a full day. e had several other stops and then home. When we got to the house we started on our arts and crafts projects that we bought from A.C. Moore. This took awhile, but they turned out nice. My sister came down with the sniffles. She felt a little warm. I gave here a Tylenol and she went to bed earlier than usual. WP1 worked on an assignment that he had to correct, and then it was that time; bedtime. He brushed his teeth, said his prayers and off to la la land. I love my grandson. I just pray that whatever is going on with him; emotionally, will stop. I know I have no control over how his parents raise him, but I just hope he knows that they love him.

Our Visit

WP2 is coming to see me today. His grandpa has to funeralize someone today so I get to watch him. He's a little under the weather so I'm hoping everything will be okay. I think we had a good time together. He laughed and played without any problem. I have to watch him constantly because when he gets started he just goes. Running around bumping into things. I don't want him to hurt himself. He can be so rough. I just love that little whippersnapper. My little rascal.

Off to School

WP1 has a very busy day. Each and everyday he gets up early; about six in the morning. He has to get ready because his parents have to get him to school and then themselves to work. He's up early and goes to bed by nine o'clock. Sometime it might even be later than that. It depends on how long it takes him to eat dinner and do homework. Now he stays for after care. He should be doing his homework then but that doesn't always happen. I think he's struggling again in school. He needs a little more stability. He has to work on focusing and staying on task.

WP1

Picking him up from Auntie's today and taking him to his Taekwondo class. This turned out to be a very busy night; for both of us. After Taekwondo I bought him something to eat. Of course fast food again. I had to get him to my house so he could start his homework and I could get to my quilt group. Oh well, this didn't happen. I stayed with him while he was doing his homework because he needed guidance. His dad called and said he was on his way. When he arrived WP1 was still working on a reading assignment. I was still there helping him. By now I am over an hour late for my group, but I couldn't leave him because he really needed help. When his dad arrived. We packed up his things and they left. I was right behind then so I could make at least and hour or less of my session. Well, my son, his dad fell down the stairs. He hurt his arm and hip area. This bothered me to no end. I let Billy and Theresa know what happened. My son didn't want to go have it checked, so he went home. by now WP1 was exhausted and probably scared to see his dad fall.

Walk In My Shoes

You never really know what a person goes through until you walk in their shoes. You have to experience what they experience on a daily basis. This isn't the first time that WP2 has slept over. In fact this is the third time. I must commend his parents for all that they have to do in taking care of him. WP2 requires all of your attention. He's a sweet little guy, but you can't do anything else but attend to him. Through all of his requirements his parents don't skip a beat when it comes down to taking care of his needs. I know it's not easy for them. I've only spent a short time with him and I sometimes forget to feed him on time. I do enjoy watching him during the day. He laughs and plays with me and he loves chasing or bothering the cat. I call him my little rascal. He's changing into this little toddler. His independence is showing.

KZ2's Visit . . .

KZ2 came to visit me today. His dad had to take care of some business so he dropped KZ2 off. He was with me for several hours. he ate raisins, apples and a few fish crackers. He enjoyed watching Bubble Guppies and Paw Patrol. He was tired and fighting sleep so after Paw Patrol I turned off the television and he took a nap. I really enjoy having my grandsons visit me.

Celebration of Life!

Today is WP2's birthday. I am so thankful him. God has blessed our family with WP2's healing. WP2 is my little rascal, my chuka nuka. All of my grandsons are my chuka nukas.

Pow Wow!

I went to WP1's third graders' Pow Wow. The third grade students have been studying Native Americans. This program was the finale. A pow wow was a celebration. The classes also created displays, showing how they lived. I was glad that I could be there for WP1. It's always good to have family support.

It's been awhile . . .

I' tired but glad that WP2 is visiting me today. It's been several weeks since I've seen him. I love his smile and his energy. He loves to chase the cat. He's finally rubbing her on his own. He's watching television; some of his favorite shows are Dinosaur Train, Bubble Guppies, and Sponge Bob. I'm sure there are others, but I watch his reaction when they are on. I was trying to get him to eat a little chocolate pudding, but it wasn't happening. He wanted to ho;ld the container and stir the pudding with the spoon, but he wouldn't taste it. He's really getting big. Next week is his birthday. He'll be two years old. WP2 is a real character. I love his smile and laugh.

KZ2

Today's KZ2's day with me. He is getting taller and I love the way he sounds when he speaks to you. He'll be three soon. He's watching television right now. PBS has great shows for him. He likes watching Martha Speaks. He likes playing with blocks, dinosaurs, bowling pins, and anything else in the toy box. We will have story time and lunch at twelve noon. I read Jackie Robinson to him, and then it was nap time. I turned off the television and, put on some soft music, he laid on the love seat and slowly went to dreamland. I covered him with one of the baby quilts, and then I took a nap too. He slept for several hours. In fact he didn't wake until his mommy came to pick him up. He was so glad to see his brother and mom.

My Little Rascal . . .

My little rascal is with me today. He's sleeping right now, and it's almost time to feed him. I call WP2 my little rascal because of his tenacity. He has a strong spirit; that he can do anything. He's not even two yet and I see this in him. He's looking more and more like a big boy. It's something how they transition from one stage to the other. Now he's in his toddler stage. It goes by so fast. I really try to cherish the moments with him and all of the grandsons.

Lunch . . .

I'm getting my oldest grandson into using his tablet to email me, and his grandpa. I want him to email as many family members that he can. This will help him with his writing. He and I have bee emailing for a couple of days now. Today we had lunch at the State Diner. I enjoy being with him. He had his favorite meal; chicken tenders and french fries. he had strawberry ice cream for dessert. He really didn't like the ice cream because of the pieces of strawberries that were in it. When I dropped him off I told him to remember to email his grandpa and me. He said, "I will, and Grandma check your email." I did and he sent me a thank you for lunch email. I jut love that guy!

Winter Concert

Tonight I went to WP1's Winter Concert. He was dressed in a white shirt, black tie, black slacks and a gray cardigan sweater. He look sharp as a tack and he did a great job. The third graders sang three Native American songs. I had heard one of them before because he always sang it to me. His Mom, Dad, Mike, Grandpa Penn, Aunt Fee, and me (Grandma) were there. He smiled when he saw us. I hope to attend many many more programs that he's in. I also introduced myself and his Grandpa Penn to his teacher. I look forward to attending all of my grandchildren's programs.

Another Day with WP2

He's sleep right now so I have a chance to type in my blogs, get dress, and probably start my knitting. He usually sleeps for several hours. I love that little whipper snapper. He's my little rascal. I set up his pack and go and laid him in it. I know he's going to have a fit because he really doesn't like being in it. WP2 usually sleeps in his stroller. We will see what happens when he wakes up. I'll definitely be writing about his reaction later. Time to go for now. Have to make a To Do List while he sleeps.

Thursday, January 16, 2014

WP2

WP2's with me today. He's my little rascal. He likes looking for the cat. He doesn't say cat instead he says, "dat" so cute.

Six

Today is KZ1's birthday. Yes, he is six years old. Boy, time does fly. I'm picking him up today because he has a half day. We went to Barnes and Noble bookstore. He wanted to buy a book for KZ2 too, so he bought two books and a MNT figure. Instead of going to the movies we went to my house and he got to order a video. I popped popcorn, sliced up an apple, and cut up a turkey sausage for him. He also got a birthday card with six dollars in it from Auntie Fee and me. When the movie went off he said, "what's next?." I decided that it was time to do homework.

KZ's Birthday Party

Today we honored KZ1. His birthday is tomorrow and of course it's a school day, so his mom and dad decided to honor him today. They had pizza, cake, and fun. KZ1 will be six years old tomorrow. I think he enjoyed his party. His theme was super heroes. Batman, and Superman were a few invited guest. KZ1 had a lot of fun playing with his family and friends.

Concerned . . .

One of my gems is having a few problems at school, with his dad, and within himself. For some reason he's not focusing. He's got too much going on around him. He needs to stop watching TV and playing his video games. He's also not telling the truth when his dad ask him something. I've spoken to him and explained why it's so important to tell the truth and to stay focused when he is at school and at home. Wherever he is and what ever he's doing he has to stay focused on one thing at a time. He takes two steps forward and three steps back. I know that he tries to manipulate me, but so far he hasn't been able to. Today I had to speak with him about how he speaks to people and/or how he responds when asked or told to do something. I know he knows better, but it's almost as though he's being defiant. He's been asking questions about his mother and father. He wants to know why they are not together. I told him he had to ask his mother and father about that. He wanted to know if his parents were happy when they were together. He's getting older and now he's asking questions.

Up Early

WP2 is visiting me today, so I have to get up early. He will be with me for the day until his mom picks him up at six. Of course I'm not prepared. I didn't get enough sleep, and now WP2 doesn't sleep like he use to. He's older now and likes to stay awake and play. So I'm up entertaining him, for a while or until the cat comes out. He tries to get her but then he runs away when she gets too close to him. The Sprout channel or Nick Jr. also entertains him. Today was my first experience feeding him with his new pump. He's such a big boy. He knows just how it works. I love that little rascal. He's my little whipper snapper.

The Week Begins . . .

I have to take WP1 to school today. Of course, we woke up at 6:47 am instead of 6:30 am. Now it's rush time. It's about a thirty minute drive from my house to his school. He showered, lotioned  his body and got dressed. I microwaved some baked chicken for him to eat. He ate two wings and was ready to go. The weather wasn't too bad because the temperature was rising and it was raining. Still I worry about the weather conditions when the temperature drops below 32 degrees. Spite the pouring rains and slow moving traffic we made it in time; just before morning care ended. He and I were both happy about that, so thus begins another week. I think he enjoyed being with me this weekend. I know I enjoyed his company.

Weekend

This weekend I spent time with WP1. WP1, Fee, and I went to the library on Saturday. We also went out to eat. He decided to order an appetizer with our meal, calamari. After this late lunch early dinner we went back home with full bellies. I promised him we would rent a movie so we watched Smurf 2. Laughter is good for the SOUL! We laughed and laughed throughout the movie. Movie ended and now it's time to do a little school work, or extra study. He has to write for thirty minutes everyday. It has to be a nonfiction writing. Here goes the pain and agony. "I don't know what to write about. So I try to persuade him into writing about the library. I helped him brainstorm his thoughts by using a graphic organizer web. He and I really bumped heads. He made all kinds of excuses. He did write something but he didn't complete his page of writing. Next on his plate was a timed multiplication quiz. I know this sounds like a bummer but it had to be done. The Grand Finale was me  to him and Fee. Roald Dahl has a great book The Vicar of Nibbleswickes. This ended our night.

Snowy Day

A snow day with WP1. We went outside to clean off the car and then a walk to the park. It is very cold outside. We had to get in the car to warm up before we took our walk.

2014

A new year, a new day, a new time, new beginnings and endings. My goal for this year is to spend quality time with my grandchildren. I have four grandsons and each unique and precious in their own way. My Gems! Making new and everlasting memories is my quest. I love the way WP1 always say, "So grandma, how was your day?" and I love how KZ1 is a critical thinker, and how KZ2 emulates KZ1, and how WP2 lights up when he sees WP1. I'm looking forward to another year of growth, challenges, and memory making events. Oh, the Places We'll Go this year!
